What is Destination Wedding?
Destination Wedding is not only about weddings, but also about tourism. In fact, couples who come from abroad to get married in Italy often decide to stay a few more days to enjoy the beauty our country has to offer, together with their guests. Here are some figures, to better understand the extent of the phenomenon and the reasons why it is worth taking it into serious consideration. ISTAT states that, in 2015 alone, there were over 7,000 marriages of foreign couples in Italy (mainly from Russia, the United States, Canada and England). This generated an induced revenue of 380 million euros, with an average expenditure of 54 thousand euros per wedding, with around 50 guests each.

Key features of Destination Wedding
From ISTAT data, it is possible to outline two basic characteristics of Destination Wedding.

The first is that these are usually intimate ceremonies. Indeed, it would be unthinkable to move more than 100 guests, as is the case with weddings celebrated on site. Generally, one goes from 10 guests to a maximum of 50.
The second characteristic is that those who want to organise a Destination Wedding are usually a high-spending couple, who have a considerable budget to invest. In this regard, etiquette dictates that it is the couple who 'offer' their guests both travel and food and accommodation for each day spent at the venue. In fact, in addition to the wedding day, one stays at the destination a few more days, spending some time together, doing some excursions and visiting the surroundings.
